Introduction
Is it the right time to introduce natural hair dye into your lifestyle? The post gives an insight into the full and professional preparation of hair dye at home.
Have you ever observed itching or burning sensation after applying chemical dyes/dye shampoos on your hair?
I think most of you might experience this situation. Moreover, chemical dyes also produce more grey hair and increase hair fall.
I had a similar experience which has troubled me for many years. After thorough research I found an easy and natural method to dye my hair.
Before that here are a few important things you should know.
Chemicals in hair dyes
The national cancer institute states that there are more than 5000 chemicals in hair dyes that are carcinogenic. 5000 CHEMICALS!
These chemicals are well known to cause bladder cancer and pose a potential risk to both the hairdressers and the users.
Chemicals like phenylenediamine is a known skin irritant which causes severe scalp irritation. The APE (Alkylphenol ethoxylates) are hormone disruptors that act directly on female hormones.
Years of research have decreased these harmful carcinogens to an extent, but have not eliminated their use.
Even the so-called safest hair dyes carry few carcinogens in them.
On the other hand, natural dye methods are the safest and purest methods of hair dying. They have given me the best results without any side-effects. Moreover, I found a decent decline in hair fall with an improvement in hair volume and strength.
So lets deep dig into the procedure of the natural dye preparation at home. We are going to tell you how to dye your hair at home without hair dye.
Preparing your hair
- Do not apply oil on your hair.
- Hair should be clean and neat.
- Clean your hair with shikaki or soapnuts 2 days prior to this process.
- If you are habituated to using chemical dyes, stop using these dyes at least 15 before this process.
